Indigenous Professional Support Unit WA

Yorganop manages other programs apart from its core business of Child placement Services.
Other programs include:

  • Indigenous Professional Support Unit Western Australia (YIPSU WA)

YIPSU WA is a federally funded program that assists Indigenous Child Care Services, throughout Western Australia, to provide experiences for children that help them grow strong and healthy in their families, their communities and their culture. Funded services include: Child Care Centres; JET Crèches; Playgroups; Multifunctional Aboriginal Children's Services (MACS); Out of School Hours Care and are situated through out the state including some very remote locations. Yorganop works closely with the Professional Support Coordinator (PSC) in WA and Inclusion Support Agencies (ISA) throughout the state to support child care services to provide quality care that is culturally safe, appropriate and meets the needs of Indigenous children. 

YIPSU WA provides professional support, advice and training to Indigenous Child Care Services. We also work with the Professional Support Coordinator (PSC) in WA and Inclusion Support Agencies (ISA) throughout the state to support child care services to provide quality care that is culturally safe, appropriate and meets the needs of Indigenous children.

Support is offered by: phone, email, monthly newsletters, fax, tele-conference, staff visits, training and information/resource sheets.
